A facelift can considerably reduce these signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening the underlying muscles, and redraping the skin around the neck and face. If your problem areas are limited to the neck, a more conservative procedure, known as a "necklift" will be recommended. Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
 Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. The procedure can correct drooping upper lids that tend to sag with time and the puffy bags below the eyes. The procedure usually takes about 1- 2 hours and can be performed in the office using local anesthesia. Stitches can be removed after three or four days. Forehead Lift (Browlift)
 A forehead lift or "browlift" is used to correct a drooping browline (eyebrow area) reducing the horizontal lines and furrows (worry lines) that often make a person appear angry, sad or tired. The procedure creates a refreshed, youthful appearance to the forehead area above the eyes.
When performing a forehead lift procedure, muscles and tissue areas that droop or cause creases are corrected to smooth the skin on the forehead, reduce frown lines and raise the eyebrows. There are two surgical methods, and during your initial consultation the procedure that works best for you will be recommended. The first is the more conventional method in which a surgical incision is hidden just above the hairline. Dr. Carter often performs the browlift by using an endoscope which enables the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Injectable Tissue Fillers (e.g., Collagen)
 Collagen is a protein found in the second layer of skin known as the dermis (the first layer is called the epidermis). Bovine collagen is injected under the dermis layer to add fullness to areas of the face such as the lips, cheeks and forehead. Other injectables include fillers, such as, Cymetra and fatty tissue. Cymetra is micronized Alloderm tissue that can be injected into similar areas of the face as Bovine Collagen. Dr. Carter also places fatty tissue using a technique called lipostructure. The fat is taken from other body areas, processed, and injected into the requested areas.
